A one-of-a-kind piece of art. Handprinted with a three-part block print on vintage fabric, each doll has her own unique personality and charm. A very special gift to last a lifetime.
Block printing is an ancient process of art making that originated in China where an image is carved into a block of wood, linoleum, or other material. The carved block is then inked and the image is created in a relief printing process. For multi-colored images multiple blocks are carved and printed in layers to create the desired effect.
The Matryoshka Doll Dream Pillow is a limited run of a 3-part block print created by Kim Vorperian in Winter 2023. This limited run consists of 8 art pillows. Due to the handmade nature of this printing process and the vintage fabrics used, no two pieces are the same. Each piece opens in the back with a waxed cotton cord and wooden button closure to allow for replacement or removal of the lavender satchel inside. Each piece is numbered and signed by the artist.
